Anaesthetic gels and skin treatments

The use of anaesthetic gels in Laser tattoo removal and other non invasive skin treatments, needs to be treated with caution. There is a remote possibility of an adverse reaction or overdose to the Lidocaine / prilocaine in the gel. Any sign of the following _
nervousness, tingling around the mouth (also known as circumoral paraesthesia), tinnitus, tremor, dizziness, blurred vision, seizures followed by depression, drowsiness, loss of consciousness, respiratory depression and apnoea.
Always apply the gel in the clinic, insist the client remain there for the hour and keep a watchful eye on the client.
