Laser tattoo removal and Roaccutane

Roaccutane or  Isotretinoin  is currently the standard care for the treatment of severe, scarring cystic acne. The most common adverse effects are a transient worsening of acne (lasting 2–3 weeks), dry lips ( cheilitis ), dry skin, and a propensity to sunburn easily, due to the skin being more photosensitive. Roaccutane is a absolute contraindication for any laser treatments including Laser tattoo removal. Unfortunately  the Q-switched laser can be ablative on the skin of someone taking roaccutane . Roaccutane increases cell mitosis and may compromise wound healing especially required for tattoo removal.  The patient needs to be off medication for one year prior to commencing treatments.   www.doffandflux.com.au

Hair removal over tattooed areas

WARNING ! Hair removal using IPL or Laser over a tattoo area will burn and blister the underlying skin and severely scar. Tattoo removal requires a Q switched laser which creates a Nanosecond (one billionth of a second) pulse of light energy. This will shatter the ink molecules, then the body can flush the finer ink particles away. Minimal heat is generated. IPL and Laser used for hair removal use s a longer pulse of light energy. This extra long pulse produces more heat, which is needed to destroy the hair follicle. When the a tattoo ink is hit with IPL, it absorbs too much energy, generating too much heat and the surrounding skin is "cooked"...... blisters, scar ! Please remind your beauty therapist of this fact, regardless. Paul www.doffandflux.com.au

How many treatments will it take to remove my tattoo?

Each person is unique as their tattoo, but most professional tattoos take 5 to 8 treatments. Home made tattoos take 1 to 4 treatments. Laser sessions are spaced out 6 weeks apart or longer. The number of treatments depends on the amount of ink used, type of ink, depth of ink placed in skin, location, age, colors, and each person’s individual health considerations. The Fotona QX max Laser  is the most powerful, best made laser system in the world, decreasing your treatment sesions to half most other laser out there. www.doffandflux.com.au

Client Testimonial .... Chris ...... Thank you

Ok...im not being paid or receiving any free treatment for this im just very happy and want to share  I have been getting laser treatment on a half sleeve for the last 18 months, dense blacks and colors. After 12 or more sessions at another clinic (who i am still quite happy with) I thought for the final session I would try Paul at Doff and Flux out as he was recommended by the tattooist doing my cover up work. All I can say is I wish I had been seeing Paul earlier. I think he achieved a 300 to 500 percent greater fade than the other clinic and If I had been seeing him from the start I would have required less sessions. This is not some BS that these guys have asked me to write I have posted this of my own accord. If you want good results see these dudes! Stoked Chris H  www.doffandflux.com.au

Temporary tattoo cover up - using make up

You will need 2 heavy duty concealers. Start by dabbing a concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone across the tattoo, smoothing it over so that it extends past the ink. Repeat the process using a second concealer in your skin tone. Then blend your foundation over the top, before setting it all with a translucent powder. Is the Fotona QX Max Laser thebest option for my tattoo removal

The Fotona QX Max Q-switched nanosecond laser is the highest performance, and best made laser system in the world. Its light energy is so powerful, so pure, it has the ability to penetrate into the deeper lying pigments and lighten or remove the most complex, multi coloured tattoos, including purple, orange, yellow, green, sky blue and pigmented lesions without damaging the outer layer or surrounding skin. It delivers the highest energy in a single nanosecond pulse of any laser available. This enables a large powerful spot size for deeper penetration consequently increasing the the efficacy and safety of the treatment. In addition, the Fotona uses Optoflex technology, making it the only laser that delivers a homogenous beam profile - a serious challenge for the laser industry - allowing for the even distribution of light energy across the treated area, minimising epidermal damage. http://www.doffandflux.com.au/ourlasers.html

Laser tattoo removal - Sun Exposure

Golden Rule - Sun Exposure If you are considering laser or IPL treatment, you ideally must have zero sun exposure up to 6 weeks prior to and during the treatment. The light energy from the laser or IPL is attracted to pigment, that means tattoo ink, hair follicles, skin pigment (freckles, birthmarks, melasma, rosacea, vascular lesions...) and of course melanin. Melanin is produced in the skin after sun exposure (tan). Even if you don't tan, the melanocytes in the skin will still produce this stuff and will then absorb any light energy from laser or IPL. This can result in burns and subsequent scarring! Also must mention fake tans and sunbeds. Same apllies. Stay out of the sun www.doffandflux.com.au

Laser tattoo removal and Scarring

The Fotona QX Max laser used for tattoo removal does not typically leave scars, although there is a small chance of this. Following the after care instructions is critical. The risk of scarring can increase for pregnancy, dark skin tone, poor circulation, immune system deficiencies, taking roaccutane, some health conditions, taking certain medications, or having a history of keloids or elevated scarring. You should inform the Laser practitioner if you have a tendency to form abnormal scars or keloids. www.doffandflux.com.au

Laser treatment and Sun Exposure .... NO!

It is critical for the tattoo area to have absolutely zero sun exposure for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to Laser treatment. The increased pigmentation in the skin (suntan), can attract the laser light energy, and subsequently cause thermal damage (burn) to the skin. Even spray on tans can cause similar complications, so a minimum 2 week wait after a spray is recommended. www.doffandflux.com.au

"How many Laser treatments to I need?"

Every tattoo responds differently due to a number of variables. There are variations in ink colours and their chemical compositions, depth and density of ink placement, skin type and individual immune system factors. Predicting how many treatments any particular tattoo will require, is an educated guess. However, faded or amateur tattoos that are black can come off in as little as 4 treatments. Professional tattoos can take more than a dozen and some are not completely removable. Certain colours, such as yellow, pink and white are difficult to remove. At Doff & Flux, the quality and performance of The Fotona QX Max laser, will minimize your treatment times and sessions, also handling all colour inks. During your consultation, your laser practitioner will make an estimate of the number of tattoo removal sessions needed to remove your tattoo. www.doffandflux.com.au

The pain

The discomfort of laser tattoo removal is often described as a "rubber band snapping the skin" but can vary from patient to patient. At Doff & Flux we do our utmost to minimize any pain or discomfort. We use the Koolio Cold air Cooling System before, during and after the treatment. The Koolio is designed to reduce pain and minimize the risk of thermal injury, producing temporary topical analgesic relief. We also can apply high-strength topical numbing cream 60 minutes prior to treatment, which is highly effective. www.doffandflux.com.au

Laser tattoo removal ....... OH ! the pain ........

The first Question most people ask is "does it hurt?" Well the short answer is "yes". The laser nanosecond pulse, when absorbed by the tattoo ink, produces a little heat, moisture and gas. So yes there is a little discomfort. Most people claim it feels like a "rubber band snapping at their skin". While some a rolling in pain, others seem to be quite comfortable...........pain tolerance varies greatly, between folk. Rest assured at Doff&Flux Laser tattoo removal, we do our best to limit any discomfort. Applying a high strength numbing cream an hour prior to treatment. Using the Koolio cold air (-30 degrees celsius) blower on the area before, during and after the treatment. This creates an analgesic effect, cooling the skin. And lastly, the Laser used. The Fotona QX max, the best, highest performance laser in the world, is so powerful and its light so pure, it can penetrate deeper into the skin, for a more effecient, faster treatment. So the treatme
